East Anglia's newest Fantasy Fayre!

13-14 June

World’s Edge is an unusual village. It spins through space and time, picking up inhabitants as it goes. Walk into World’s Edge and you might encounter fae, mermaids, starfighters or people from the distant reaches of history.

It’s said that for just one weekend a year near Midsummer, it connects to our own world - at the incredible medieval Cressing Temple in north Essex, between Braintree and Witham. On that weekend, the citizens of World’s Edge hold a special market, shows and a Saturday evening party to welcome you one and all in the spirit of imagination.

Finchingfield will be bursting with colour, creativity and community spirit on Saturday 30 May (11am–4pm) as ten beautiful local gardens open their gates to the public, alongside a special Art Exhibition at the Finchingfield Guildhall.

The Guildhall Art Exhibition will feature work from six highly talented professional artists, offering visitors the chance to view and buy original pieces. Proceeds from the day will support the Finchingfield Guildhall Restoration Fund, helping to preserve this treasured, Grade One listed historic building, built in 1470, for future generations.

Adding an extra creative flourish, professional local artist Helen Wiseman will be dropping by selected gardens during the day to paint “en plein air” (on site). Visitors may be lucky enough to see a work taking shape in real time—an unexpected bonus that brings the gardens to life in a whole new way.

Whether you’re a keen gardener, an art lover, or simply looking for a wonderful day out in the Essex countryside, the Finchingfield Open Gardens & Art Exhibition promises a warm welcome, plenty of inspiration, and a great cause at its heart.
