We're excited to announce that we're launching a new project together with the Angus-based Glenesk Folk Museum entitled, 'A Survey of the Living Music Practices and Traditions of Glen Esk and its Surrounds'.

Through interviews with those involved in music, the fieldwork project will work to document and understand the contemporary musical landscape of the glen, as well as nearby Edzell and Brechin. Together, we hope to make a contribution to the on-going work in Scotland that aims to support living heritage/Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH).

If you live in these areas or have a musical connection to them, we'd love to hear from you. Please comment below, send a direct message, or contact us through the Expressing Scotland website.

If you were a sheep farmer in 1898 you would probably have had a copy of this well used book - Sheep Marks for Loch Lee were included in this area that covers North East Scotland and was printed in Aberdeen in 1897.

You can see details of not only what the marks were, but also where on the sheep they were to be found.
