On the 5th of September a memorial service was held to honor the 23 Allied and German aircrew who lost their lives on or around the Brown Clee in Shropshire. The Brown Clee is said to have had more air crashes on or around it than any other hill in mainland England.

This video was created by Leon Towns. Leon kindly attended the ceremony as a representative of the Royal Air Force and provided his drone for images and videos.

This service was organised by members of the Brown Clee Benefice, The Royal British Legion, Chetton Heritage Museum and Phillipa and Ian Hodgkiss.

This Memorial was erected in 1981 by Philippa Hodgkiss and members of WWIG at Fort Perch Rock.

We are pleased to announce that Chetton Heritage Museum is now recognised as a registered charity!

We would like to personally thank Barry Love and David Ashworth for getting it done. Barry started the application over 18 months ago with David coming onboard to finish the application in recent months. David's relentless persistence got it though last week.

For this Sundays open day the start up times are:
Rolls Royce Merlin Start 12pm
Harrier GR3 GTS start 2pm
Refreshments and food throughout the day
13th September 10am - 4pm

Yesterday these two men dropped off a bench they made after seeing an elderly couple looking for somewhere to sit on one of our open days.
Ian, who we've known for a few years, does anything from bespoke decorative fabrication and hydrodipping to classic car restoration.

Yesterday the organisers of the annual show donated £2100 to the Midland Air Ambulance and a further £900 to Chetton Church. Thanks to the Midland Oil Engine Club, Tony Maiklem, the museum Volunteers, Air Cadets, traders, exhibitors and to everyone who made it possible
