Come Together: Help bring Bridport Arts Centre into community ownership. Bridport Arts Centre is a multi-arts venue presenting a year-round programme of visual arts, theatre, dance, comedy, music, spoken word and films and screenings. Located in the heart of Bridport we serve audiences across Dorset and the South West. We are also home to the new cafe F.east. F.east is open 10am - 3pm | Wednesday - Saturday. Tonight at BAC: Missing, presented by From Page to Screen Film Festival, in support of our Come Together campaign.

Costa-Gavras’s gripping political thriller, starring Jack Lemmon and Sissy Spacek, will be followed by a guest Q&A with investigative journalist Jon Lee Anderson and illustrator Claudio Muñoz.

We'll also have Selected Grapes here with their favourite Chilean w**e.

Coming to Bridport Arts Centre next week… 🎬🎻🎭

On Monday, From Page to Screen presents Missing (1982) (15) in support of the Come Together campaign, with guest speakers Jon Lee Anderson and Claudio Muñoz, from 7:30pm.

On Thursday, we’re showing Harvest (2024) (18) from 7:30pm.

On Friday morning, Lise Vandersmissen and Gabriela Opacka-Boccadoro bring Concerts in the West to BAC at 11:30am.

And on Sunday, The Metropolitan Opera’s Macbeth hits the big screen from 6:00pm.

A night out for a good cause ✨

Join us at Bridport Arts Centre on Friday 23rd October for Come Together: Gala Night and Fundraising Auction. There’ll be good food, entertainment and a chance to help secure the future of the Arts Centre.

Tickets are £60 per person. The live auction will be one of the evening’s most exclusive moments, with standout experiences available only to guests in the room. With brilliant experiences to bid on, including VIP tickets to The Traitors Live, a private film screening, a countryside stay in the south of france and a cocktail experience at home.

The final chapter of the Leonian Dream residency is coming soon! 🎸

Leonian Dream have already headlined two incredible gigs at Bridport Arts Centre, and now they're back to close the series.

Joining them are two artists worth catching early. Plymouth's Kate Hall brings soulful vocals and piano-led pop with a hit of R&B and indie grit, while Dorset's George Hall serves up blues, soul and roots-rock built on feel, groove and tone.

Join Rowan McCabe- Poet and support by local artist and poet, Angie Porter Art for a night of spoken word and comedy.

Following the release of his new book The Door-to-Door Poet, as well as a hit programme on BBC Radio 4, Rowan McCabe returns to the stage at BAC with Hard Knocks, a show about community and connection.

Angie Porter will open the evening reading some poems from her new book She Speaks and Other Poems.

From Page to Screen presents Missing, Costa-Gavras’s gripping political thriller starring Jack Lemmon and Sissy Spacek.

The screening will be followed by a guest Q&A with Jon Lee Anderson, investigative journalist and New Yorker staff writer and illustrator Claudio Muñoz, with more guests still to be announced.

Flax Uncovered exhibition opens this weekend at the Allsop Gallery at Bridport Arts Centre.

Before it was linen, canvas or lino it was a field of pale blue flowers.

For over 1,000 years, flax was a defining part of Bridport's local economy through generations of cultivation, processing and making? Yet while Bridport’s h**p growing and ropemaking histories are well documented, the story of flax is less widely known.

During the summer community researchers have been searching archives and collections to explore the history of flax in the Bridport area, uncovering lost stories and knowledge.

This new exhibition showcases what they have discovered so far and showcases maps, documents and books.

We also invite you to add your own story to help tell the tale of a plant, a town and a landscape.
