Anna Barlow transforms moments of indulgence into exuberant ceramic sculptures balancing beauty, excess, and decay. Melting ice creams, piped porcelain icing, and collapsing confectionery blur the line between celebration and disruption, capturing fleeting pleasures permanently in clay.

Working with porcelain, Anna embraces unpredictability as heat and gravity soften and reshape each piece during firing. Rooted in rituals of consumption and nostalgia, her sculptures are playful yet unsettling, luxurious yet fragile objects suspended between fantasy, memory, and material transformation.

In our upstairs gallery, a feast of colour envelopes you with richly textured encaustic paintings by Kent based artist

David’s work looks beyond the surface to the hidden elements within the landscape - corridors of weather, certain kinds of waves, fracturing of the landscape, colour, mood and even sounds.

Barry Stedman’s ceramics are full of energy, spontaneity, and unmistakably painterly surfaces. Inspired by the shifting landscapes surrounding his Bedfordshire studio, each vessel captures movement, weather, colour, and touch in clay.

No two works are alike making them popular with art collectors who are drawn to their tactile presence, expressive mark-making, and the way they bring warmth, rhythm, and atmosphere into a space.

Rooted in storytelling, Astrig Akseralian’s paintings transform simple rural moments into something quietly extraordinary. Walking a dog, feeding chickens, calling goats, these scenes are elevated through expressive colour and layered composition into works that feel both familiar and otherworldly.

Her intuitive process, built on spontaneity and evolving layers, ensures that no two pieces are ever the same. For first time art buyers and seasoned collectors, this means owning a truly unique work, rich in character, depth, and a distinctive artistic voice.

Dawn Stacey’s love of tapestry, aged worn walls and decorative frescoes are evocative of her paintings that include layers of acrylic paint. Emerging textured or decorative surfaces incorporate detailed imagery from nature such as birds, flowers, butterflies or insects as well as delicate illustration of people in the scenes. Each unique piece is intended to conjure up a vision of a mysterious, dreamlike landscape by expressing an essence of a place.

We are delighted to have new works by Mélanie Bourget in the gallery this week.

Mélanie creates figurative sculptures, busts and expressive faces in a contemporary offbeat style that pushes the boundaries of pop art. This style oscillates between realism and fantasy. Then she subjects them to the raku technique.

Her mysterious dreamy characters are essentially poetic and fragile beings inhabiting her world.

These creatures are alive and convey a deep range of emotions. Through the cracks of glaze, we can see the human soul reflected with remarkable accuracy.
