A little KAWS, a touch of pink.

A love for this week, KAWS is exhibiting now in the gallery alongside the framed limited-edition print.

KAWS started out as a New York graffiti artist and has since become one of the world’s most recognisable contemporary artists, with his work spanning painting, sculpture, fashion and major global exhibitions. 📖✨

Todd shared, in depth, his incredible journey from animation into the world of art, and the importance of listening to that gut feeling when life is telling you to pursue something different.

Collectors have a shorthand for it: “Rat Pack meets Picasso.”

It’s the martini glasses and the cigarette smoke. The tux jackets slung open, the dresses that move like they’re mid-sentence. Todd White’s world looks like the best party you were never invited to and somehow, you already know everyone in the room.
Then you look closer, and the glamour isn’t the whole story. The expressions are pushed just past real, a raised brow, a smirk held a second too long, because that’s where the character actually lives. And the hands. Always the hands.

Holding a glass a little too tightly. Resting somewhere they shouldn’t. Todd paints hands the way most artists paint faces, because hands don’t know how to lie.
That’s the trick of it. It reads as glamour first, honesty second.

Todd White doesn’t paint strangers, he paints the people you pass every day, then shows you something about them you’d never noticed on your own. A tilt of the head. The way someone holds a cigarette, a glass, their own hands.
He studies body language the way most people study faces, because that’s where the truth actually lives, in what we reveal without meaning to, and what we work hard to hide.
The frame is never an afterthought. It’s built for the piece, by hand, the same way each character is built before a single brushstroke happens.

Look closely on opening night. You’ll start noticing it in the room, too.
