Blaise Museum is a treasure trove of interesting objects which show how people in Bristol used to live. Come and see toys and games, paintings, objects used for cooking and washing in the past, and wonderful clothes, shoes and accessories. A great day out - follow up your visit to the museum with a walk in the woods and a play on the adventure playground.

Who's excited for half term!?

We have some fabulous fun for the family coming up from 25 October at Blaise Museum. Enjoy our trail of fairy doors and see if you can spot woodland creatures hidden around the museum.

There will be crafts, face painting, and storytime.

Outside, the estate’s trees will put on a spectacular autumn show-perfect for a crisp walk and a bit of leaf tossing! 😆🍂

Urgent but exciting repair works are taking place at Kings Weston Roman Villa.Staff and volunteers from Bristol Museums ...

Urgent but exciting repair works are taking place at Kings Weston Roman Villa.

Staff and volunteers from Bristol Museums have weeded the walls to stop the damage caused by roots.

Cliveden Conservation Workshop are now working on site. Specialist conservators are carefully removing the 1950s cement which was used during restoration and replacing it with a softer, more suitable material. This will help us to protect the Roman stonework from weeds and the weather.

Once the repairs are completed, the walls will be temporarily covered so that they can cure. This work should be finished by the end of October.

To see what we have been doing, why not visit the villa on Sat 27 September from 10am to 3pm for our last open day of the season!

These repairs are possible thanks to funding from Historic England, Bristol Museums Development Trust and the Friends of Bristol Museums, Galleries & Archives.

📅 Saturday, 10am–3pm
