After two previous successful workshops, an extra has been added on 13 June!

There's no such thing as not being able to draw. Drawing is, simply put, the way the artist sees the world and how they put that down on paper.

Robert Fairclough will encourage you to interpret what you draw in your own way and assist you in gaining confidence as you develop your own distinctive style.

Bring a drawing pad and your choice of materials - these could be pencils, biros, wax crayons, oil pastels, felt tips or markers - whatever you like.

Our wonderful new exhibition by local artist Robert Fairclough is only on until 14 June!
Don't miss your chance to catch his vibrant and detailed works. 🎨

About the Artist:
When Robert Fairclough moved back to East Anglia in 2017 he rediscovered a love of drawing, primarily of archaeological digs organized by the Sainsbury Institute for the Study of Japanese Arts and Culture. Since then, Robert’s drawing has expanded to include the heritage of most of East Anglia, with a particular emphasis on life in his hometown of Lowestoft.

He has suffered from bipolar disorder for most of his life; consequently, Robert strongly advocates sketching as an important aspect of mental wellbeing, a belief he’s been glad to pass on in drawing workshops. As long as sufferers can produce one drawing a day, Robert believes, then that day’s been worthwhile and is an important step towards recovery.

The Gallery is open Monday - Saturday 10am - 3pm
Also open on performance evenings.
If you are traveling from a long distance, please ring our Box Office to check if the gallery is not closed.
