There are two types , Wired and Wireless, The key difference between wired and wireless options is the source of power, which with hardwire solutions is continuous and permanent. Wired CCTV Systems:
Wired home CCTV systems are the most traditional system used in larger properties. Unlike wireless, wired CCTV requires cables for power, video transmission and internet connection. These systems are known for their reliability, and it’s also considered that they may not be as susceptible to signal conditions , although installation time can be longer compared to wireless. The systems tend to be preferred in larger homes and commercial sites as can support many cameras. IP based CCTV:
IP based systems generally digitally transmit and receive data over a network or internet connection. The main difference is that IP-based cameras don’t require a digital video recorder (DVR) to monitor and transmit audio and image nor does it transfer data via a radio transmitter. With IP–based cameras, all data is transmitted through a wired network connected via ethernet cable to a broadband modem or router or wirelessly via a WiFi router. Access control systems:
