Andy says,"Astronomy is fascinating, beautiful and inspiring. I will explain how astronomy contributes to science, technology, the economy, and education. However, our study of the sky is now under threat - from light pollution and from mega-constellations of satellites streaking across the night sky. I will explain the problem and what we can do about it."

Andy Lawrence is the Regius Professor if Astronomy at the University of Edinburgh. He specialises in the study of quasars - giant black holes in the centres of galaxies - but also over many years has been involved in projects mapping the sky at many wavelengths. Streaks appearing in survey images led him into being concerned about the pollution of the night sky, and the more general idea of space environmentalism.

Bank of Scotland is a name ubiquitous to the financial history of Scotland, but have you ever considered its history?

Located in the Bank's Head Office at the Mound in Edinburgh, Museum on the Mound tells the story of Bank of Scotland and many other banks within Lloyds Banking Group. Join Museum on the Mound's Engagement Officer Gillian Paterson for a whistle stop look at the story of the Bank, the building at the Mound, and many of the characters (and occasional rogues) that have featured in the story of Bank of Scotland for over 300 years.
