QUINQUE OPEN UNTIL 13 MARCH 🌱
art by

"For five years, Gallerie V has supported hundreds of young artists and brought free and accessible art to the public, both locals and visitors alike.

We have worked very hard to bring and produce beautiful and meaningful exhibitions to be shared by all. It has been a lot of work and we have loved every minute of it.

Quinque is our final exhibition in this historical location on St John’s Street, Cambridge. But not to worry, Gallerie V will still continue to produce more exhibitions in Cambridge and more.

During Quinque we are exhibiting two special artists; Vienna Zhang and Molly Cawthorn. Without them, Gallerie V as we know it, would not have existed. Enjoy the exhibition while taking a trip down memory lane revisiting all our past exhibitions along the way See you again soon."

-Gallerie V Team; Samantha de Reus, Vienna Zhang, Molly Cawthorn and Nina Lawrence.

GAIA : winter 2026 exhibition
Open until February 13th 🌍

"But why do I speak of an oak or a rock?"
- Hesiod, Theogany, line 35.

Gaia, the Greek goddess emobdying the Mother of All, represents a feminine principle that unifies the world. Her essence gave poetic form to Lovelock's 1974 Gaia Principle, a scientific theory illustrating the interconnectedness of the natural environment. This theory posits that the Earth operates as a self-regulating system where interdependent living and non-living elements interact to sustain the delicate balance required for life.
When Hesoid wrote of an oak or a rock, he introduced Gaia through a common phrase meaning a trivialised thing. Yet Lovelock;s theory turns this upside down; these things are not trivial, but integral. Gaia's collection of female artists invites us to think in a thesame manner, and observe a powerful dialogue between nature and the feminie.
The artworks in this exhibition speak to the synthesis of the female form, lived experience, and the natural world. Evocative presentations of nature and abstravt depictions of bodies explore intrinsic connections between the feminine experience an the natural environment. These are entangled relationships, which support and contribute to each other's existence within a larger, deeply interconnected whole.
