🌡️We’re closing on Thursday.🥵

Due to frankly unreasonably high temperatures on Thursday we'll be closing the museum for the day. Sadly, this also means that Thursday's event, "Meet the Greeks" will also be cancelled.

We apologise for any inconvenience this causes. We should be back open as usual on Friday 14 August at 10am, so you won't be bereft of your favourite ancient masterpieces for too long...

In a tragic twist of fate, supply line issues have delayed our Roman soldier today - he'll be at the Museum at 2:30 pm. In the meantime, there's still plenty to do, from trails to fun family activities, all running from 1pm.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Our glass roof provides wonderful light, but it can also make the Cast Gallery very warm when the temperature is high outdoors.

If you're planning a visit when it's hot out, make sure that you stay safe and cool on your visit by following these tips.

Oh gosh, it's really hot, isn't it?

Sadly, this means we're going to have have to close this week - having a glass roof means lots of lovely natural light all year around, but it also means we heat up quickly!

We'll be closing Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week until things hopefully cool down. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Stay safe in this heat everyone...

😱You may have noticed that a few of our casts have gone missing😱

There's no need for alarm! Our casts of the Esquiline Venus, the Auxerre Goddess, and the Idolino have gone on loan to the CCCB in Barcelona for their exhibition "The Cult of Beauty". They'll be back from their holiday before you know it.

This exhibition is based on the 2023 Wellcome Collection exhibition of the same name.
