Cambridge Fine Art

Cambridge Fine Art We deal in high quality, mainly, British paintings from renowned artists. The majority of our paintings are from the Victorian era. We sell affordable art.

Cambridge Fine Art was first established in Trumpington Street, Cambridge in 1971. We sell affordable art in a friendly environment. In the 1970's we were founder exhibitors at the Olympia Antiques Fairs, and at the National Exhibition Centre Fairs in the 1980's, where we continue to regularly exhibit. In 1986 we moved to Little Shelford, where we had extensive showrooms for fine paintings. We now

exhibit widely at the major Antique Fairs, but also show our paintings at a number of Antique Centres and with Furniture dealers around the country. We have a large selection of fine oil paintings on show most of the year at various centres around the UK, including Rutland Arms Antique Centre in Bakewell, Gloucester Quays Antique Centre and Walton House Antiques in Wiltshire. Inside the house
Twice yearly we open our studio barn in Little Shelford. Here you can browse the paintings on display at your leisure and in a friendly atmosphere. At other times of the year our paintings can be viewed by appointment. We are also happy to advise you on art.

Currently setting up and I’m excited to share this beautiful oil painting by Joan Elliott Bates, Windy Day, Blackshore on the Blythe. It captures that unmistakable Southwold atmosphere — the sweep of the wind across the Blyth, the character of the boatsheds, and that soft coastal light that makes this corner of Suffolk so special.

We’re delighted to be exhibiting this piece at the Southwold Easter Antique Fair, and it’s a wonderful example of Bates’s ability to bring the landscape to life with energy and sensitivity.

If you’re in Southwold over Easter, do come along and see it in person. It’s even more evocative when you’re standing right in front of it.

The collection includes:

Digging Out the Burrow
