Here is a lovely collagraph print “Silent Soltice”
It was recently exhibited in the beautiful gallery 44AD art space in Bath.
A collagraph is made using different textured materials, built up on a rigid substrate to make a plate. The surface is then sealed with shellac. Tones are created through texture - rough areas will be darker than smoother ones. The results can be surprising as you can’t tell how materials will respond to the ink.
This one was incredibly detailed, it’s so enjoyable pushing the process to its limits!
