🇳🇴 Another Man’s Shoes: The Sven Sømme Story 🇳🇴

Discover the extraordinary true story of one man’s resistance to the N**i occupation of his beloved country.

In 1944, Norwegian scientist and resistance agent Professor Sven Sømme was arrested as a spy. After escaping his captors, he spent two months crossing the Norwegian wilderness ❄️🏔️, trekking through deep snow and evading the Gestapo until he reached freedom in Sweden.

His surviving daughter, Ellie Sømme MBE, will tell her father’s remarkable story and share real WWII artefacts that belonged to him, including stamps concealing hidden microfilm 🔎📜

📖 Copies of Sven Sømme’s book, Another Man’s Shoes, will also be available at the event.

🎻 Australian Multi-Style Cellist, William Jack 🎻

Performing across genres from folk and bluegrass to jazz, we’re delighted to welcome Australian cellist and songwriter William Jack, who is redefining what the cello can do. 🎻✨

Blending his classical training with a background in jazz guitar, Jack has developed an unconventional style of cello playing that crosses genres, cultures and musical traditions. His journey has taken him from classical studies in Vienna to live performances on BBC Radio 3 and the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas.

Described as “a master of unconventional cello playing” by GLAM Adelaide, expect an afternoon of boundary-pushing music in the beautiful setting of the Norwegian Church. 🎶
