King Street Gallery - artists' gallery

King Street Gallery - artists' gallery We are a gallery in Carmarthen run by a co-operative of West Wales artists showing quality visual art
(1)

Originally founded on an informal basis by six members in 2000, The King Street Gallery cooperative has been in operation as a not-for-profit limited company since 2004. We aim to provide a mutually supportive exhibiting environment, promote high quality visual arts in the community and sell directly to the public. We support external exhibitions and events, by renting space to other artists. We facilitate creative workshops and educational activities for the community.

Members’ Summer Exhibition
12 May –18 July 2026

King Street gallery welcomes you to their Members’ Summer Exhibition to see our new collection of fine art painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, textile art, artisan furniture and jewellery on display. We have selected a lively, summery collection bringing a warm glow to the gallery and also have a contemporary Unique Gifts area with thoughtfully curated, high quality artistic gifts, reflecting the galleries aesthetic made by our artists for you. Do visit our lovely spacious light and airy gallery with a warm welcome from the steward of the day who will be only too happy to chat and discuss the various members’ works on display. The Spotlight Room is an intimate space off the main gallery which, at present, is showcasing the members’ selection of unframed original prints and reproductions. We also have an eclectic selection of fine art greetings cards by many of the members for all those special occasions.

Thin Spaces and .fletcher.art .gallery

13th May - 3rd June ‘26

“Our work evolved around the concept of Thin Spaces’. We asked, what does ‘Thin Spaces’ mean? Our discoveries included the universal phenomenon of threshold or doorway: the ending of something and the beginning of something new. Places, phenomena or experiences that give us a sense of the unknown or unseen, yet full of promise and potential, comfort or possibly even dread. This is surely something we can all relate to?

What became clear to us is the wonderous thought: how ‘Thin Spaces’ always have and likely always will connect humans around the world. In every culture, religion, or belief system, we celebrate them, in our different ways. We create rituals and ceremonies around them.

We observe rules and practices and imbue objects with significance or protective qualities. We create narratives and myths, with a common goal. To make sense of the incomprehensible.”
