For a midweek pick-me-up, we thought we’d highlight some artist opportunities which should be on your radar:
1. RWA Annual Open Exhibition
The RWA Annual Exhibition features both emerging talent and established names, spanning painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, architecture, sculpture, and mixed-media installation. It represents some of the most exciting artists working across the UK and beyond today, with selection overseen by a panel of guest experts alongside RWA Academicians.
Deadline: Monday 22 June
Entry: £22
2. Sixteen Gallery Open Call Exhibition
Sixteen Gallery is once again inviting artists to submit work for a two-week group exhibition in August. Open to emerging and established artists alike, and with a panel of judges from within the local creative community, the exhibition will celebrate a wide range of contemporary practices. Offering selected artists the opportunity to exhibit within a supportive gallery setting, and one overall winner to win a free week at the gallery next year.
Deadline: Tuesday 30 June
Entry: £1
3. The British Art Prize
This major international art competition will expose winning artists of all levels to a far-reaching platform to gain valuable publicity and recognition for their work. Open to emerging and established artists and all styles of media and techniques. With a huge prize fund and exhibition for shortlisted artists at OXO Gallery.
Deadline: Friday 7 August
Entry: £24
4. ING Discerning Eye
This exhibition comprises both publicly submitted works and works independently selected by six prominent figures from different areas of the art world, with each section is hung separately to give each its own distinctive identity. It provides an unusual opportunity for works by lesser-known artists to be hung alongside contributions from internationally recognised names.
Deadline: Thursday 27 August
Entry: £15
