𝗪𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Launch party: Friday 16th October, 6pm onwards

Join us to celebrate the opening of We Are Creators 2026, bringing together The Wilson’s nine resident artists, working across painting, printmaking, textiles, fashion, photography, sculpture and moving image. Two leading threads run through the exhibition: direct responses to The Wilson’s collections and Cheltenham’s identity, and community-engaged practice that incorporates co-produced elements developed through workshops.

The show’s title isn’t just a label; it’s an invitation. 𝙒𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙨

𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗜𝗢: Stone, Cuda and AI

Artist in Residence, ._ , shares the story behind current project, Cuda Forest. Influenced by Baron de Ferreriers and Harold Cohen, Katys current work explores themes around Quantum Ideas, Archival artwork and AI influences in our past and present world.

In the quiet of the new museum wing, there’s time to notice the details. From the smallest marks and textures to the scale and stories of the spaces around them.

Our Test Space is closing... but it's not goodbye!
The ideas, feedback and discoveries from the Test Space have helped shape our newly refurbished museum wing, opening soon. Visit from 24 October to see how this space has inspired what's next.
Our next exhibition and the Open Archives will reopen on 17 October.

Memory Cafe: Meet Jean 👋

Jean is one of our wonderful volunteers at The Wilson’s Memory Lane Café, a welcoming space for older people and anyone living with dementia. Here, visitors can enjoy an activity, share some company, or simply spend time together.

For Jean, it’s the people that make volunteering so rewarding: “It’s very satisfying and interesting… I thoroughly enjoy it.”

A little time, a shared activity and good company can make a big difference. 💛

Memory Lane Cafe is on today, and every first Thursday of the month, 10:30am - 12pm

Artist in Residence, Atul Bhunkal , shares the story behind his current painting, Kalpataru. Influenced by Bhakti movement of India, his current work explores themes around spirituality, movement and the feelings of ecstasy.

Meet Dan, one of our wonderful volunteers at the Wilson!

Dan invigilates exhibitions, lends a hand at our Memory Café and school visits, and gets involved in so much more behind the scenes.

Meet Megan, Social History Curator at The Wilson.

Megan talks about her role at the museum and introduces one of her favourite pieces of local history: the Cheltenham & District Pig Society sign.

The sign is one of the objects that will be on display in the new museum wing, opening 24 October !

Our final film in the Cheltenham’s Big Museum Project series shares some ‘behind the scenes’ glimpses of the Wilson’s new museum wing, along with the process, plans and hard work underway to get it ready for our grand reopening!

Many hands make light work, and a new museum wing needs many hands! After many months of hard work, things are starting to come together, and we’re excited to share the new museum wing with you on Saturday, October 24 🎉
