We are getting ready for a busy half term week here at the Museum.

Don't forget we are open today as well as our usual Thursday- Sunday. There will be trails and activities throughout the week.

The Museum is also excited to welcome back the wonderful Cheshire Pals Home Guard re-enactment group this Thursday and Friday.

Younger visitors can make a peg person to take home in our Fun Friday drop in craft session. No need to book just come along!

Notice what the soldiers are wearing on their heads in this painting in the WWI room. They are wearing soft caps, which during the first two years of the war did little against the machine gun or the “devil’s paintbrush.” Thus Brodie helmets were introduced, saving the lives of many soldiers including Victoria Cross recipient Thomas Alfred Jones.
