As apart of Volunteers Week, we wanted to spotlight the amazing Bridget who volunteers with our F&B team 🌟

"The best thing about Bridget is that she brings a lot of 'Joie de vivre' to the busiest part of our day. She inspires all generations of our team to approach tasks with a positive attitude, and Bridget's smile is contagious!" - F&B team

From all the team and on behalf of our visitors, thank you for everything you do for us, Bridget!

'Gardens are the gateway to the imagination’

Since 2020, Anderson & Low have found peace and wonder in Hidcote's garden rooms, created by Lawrence Johnston in the twentieth century.

Over the years, their love for Hidcote’s uniqueness and mystery has grown into the exhibition visitors can see today.

Take a listen to what Hidcote means to them in their own words.

We are truly saddened to learn of the passing of Matthew Biggs VMH, gardener, author, and broadcaster, who will be a huge loss to the world of gardens and horticulture.

When the Hidcote team decided to commission a new guidebook, there was only one name that came up: Matt Biggs. We were absolutely thrilled when Matt agreed to take on the challenge, despite being unwell and undergoing treatment. His gift for storytelling and love of sharing his passion for gardens was so evident, both in his writing and in person, that we could think of no one better.

Matt was determined to tell the story of a garden he loved so well, and when the book lands in the shop this summer, we hope you’ll agree how brilliantly he has done that.

Matt’s legacy will live on through his many projects, books, articles and interviews, and we are honoured to soon be counted amongst them, and to share his words with you.

Our thoughts are with Matt’s family and friends at this difficult time; he will be much missed by all who knew and met him.
