Kate Barry's photographs are created after hours of work outdoors, braving inclement weather and attempting to capture the landscape as it changes with conditions. Her work for our 'Susurrations' exhibition shows stillness and beauty, as seen in this extract from her image 'Reflections in the Mist'.

'Falling' . a mixed media piece by painter Caroline Green captures the feel of an autumn day beautifully. The sunlight is gradually fading as the sun lowers, but the colour of fallen leaves still provides a splash of light around the trees.

The Gallery at the Guild is a cooperative and a lot of our members have been with us for many years. However occasionally a member leaves and we have space to welcome a new artist. We are very pleased to say a big "hello" to Jenny Chan, a talented ceramicist who has just put her first pieces on display in the Gallery. We'll give you a proper introduction to Jenny and her sculptural work later on, but just to whet your appetite, here's a little preview.

New in the Gallery!

Our artists often come into the Gallery with new work, perhaps a small piece for our shop area or something more substantial for the Gallery walls or plinths. Steel-Jessop Textile Art has brought us these charming little paper birds, perched on cotton reels and waiting for new homes. Bridget is not only a skilled textile artist working with fabric and threads, but she also creates work like this using recycled paper, especially maps. We always have a range of Bridget's work in the Gallery including her embroidered panels, fans, taxidermy and boxes.
