A beautifully detailed original oil painting from the early 70s by American illustrator and painter Bruce Bomberger. The traditional French wooden shopfront rendered with gilded sign writing, torn fly posters and a lady walking by with a baguette in hand .. little more š«š· than this!

DETAIL: Born in California he attended The College of Arts & Crafts in Berkeley and at the Art Center in Los Angeles, In the late 1940ās he started his long career as a commercial illustration - best known for his work on the famous āMarlboro Man.ā
In 1961 he became the founding member of the San Francisco Society Of Illustrates and a president of that club. Alongside illustration he also painted and exhibited his oil paintings. This work having remains of an exhibition label verso which is that from the prestigious English gallery of E Stacy Marks in Eastbourne c.1965/1970.
