One of our team was at Cosford air show last weekend so took the opportunity to visit the Britannia painted as XM497 (this actual frame was never in RAF service).

She's in a sorry state, sadly.

Does anyone know why ours has a different pattern of wheel on the front? Genuine question, no prizes!

Next open days: This Saturday, 20 June, 11-4

Saturday 4th July 11-4, and Sunday 5th July, times to be notified (Cotswold Airport open days).

Remember the scaffolding we showed you recently? The outdoor team made good use of the lovely weather today to continue stripping the paint off.

Photos courtesy of Andy because I was too chicken to climb off the ladder 😄

We're open this Saturday 20th June, 11-4 - to look at the inside of the aircraft only, we can't let you up the scaffolding, I'm afraid 😄😄😄. Free entry, lots to see, some lovely souvenirs available for a donation.

Head for AV8 and turn right at the crossroads.

You saw it here first!

Today we had a visit from this young chap and his fabulous car; they were taking some photos for an article in Practical Classics next month.

This car was bought by his parents in 1999, but subsequently sold. He managed to track it down in USA, to where it had been exported. Long story short - he bought it, brought it back to UK and restored it - and here it is, in all its glory, taken against the background of our pride and joy, XM496.

PS The car owner is the fellow sitting on the steps, not the photobomber doing acrobatics on the scaffolding. Thanks, Hugh 😄

It's a beautiful day and we're open! Very quiet, so an idea time for a thorough look round the aircraft - come on over!
