A Basic Outline -
On the upper floor of a beautiful Georgian building, we will provide:
• A life model,
• Easels,
• Art books to refer to,
• Paper available to buy,
• Low music in the background
• Friendly faces
There is also a café and a lovely garden for you to enjoy. This is a drop-in class, so you can turn up and leave at any time between 11:00 and 14:00. There’s no need to book, nor to
commit to regular classes. Pay on a weekly basis; £5 for 3 hours. There’s also no pressure to stay for the whole three hours. Purpose -
Have you ever wondered how good you are at art? You say that you are quite good at drawing, whilst trying to recall distant memories from art classes at school. You remember vague compliments from class mates. You wonder whether you still have a knack with a pencil… Well this is a class designed for you! Most of us enjoy art, we just need the opportunity to make the time to do it. To achieve the potential of your skill and develop a talent, come along and find out what you can create. The Life Drawing Club is a social club, created for people of all abilities to have a space to play with different techniques, colours, materials... anything you want to bring along. Use your imagination to explore the world of life drawing and experiment as you are inspired. Our aim is to create a really relaxed environment where people feel like they can explore the world of art and the process of creating a finished piece in their own time frame, with the freedom for you to use whatever technique you choose. Those of you who have never drawn a picture before, are just as welcome as art students or even professional artists. This is a personal, self-indulgent space, where reference books will be provided, however you are just as welcome to bring your own. The class is untutored so that it is less structured. There is no need to commit to regular classes. Pay on a weekly basis. If you want to drop by for an hour or two, that is absolutely fine, there is no pressure to stay for the whole three hours, (except for the model!) We are providing the space and a life model, and you come and do the rest. Easels will be provided. Paper will be available to buy.
