Nestled in the heart of the village, near the beautiful church and surrounded by views of the River Colne, Wivenhoe Cafe & Gallery is the perfect summer destination for locals, visitors and families looking to relax, explore and enjoy fresh homemade food in a welcoming setting.
Our charming courtyard garden, filled with colourful pots, climbing roses and a shaded pergola, creates a peaceful space to unwind with friends, children and even your four-legged companions — we are proudly dog friendly and family friendly, complete with a children’s play area that makes visiting easy and enjoyable for all ages.
Inspired by our Polish and Cypriot heritage, we bring together vibrant Mediterranean and Eastern European flavours with a modern café experience. From traditional homemade cakes and pastries to freshly prepared salads, gourmet toasties and artisan sandwiches, every dish is made with care, quality ingredients and plenty of flavour.
Our summer menu is all about freshness and colour — crisp seasonal salads, delicious deli-style lunches, warm toasted sandwiches and handcrafted sweets served alongside refreshing signature drinks including homemade lemonade, raspberry coolers and strawberry summer drinks that are perfect for sunny afternoons in the garden.
We also have a beautiful gift shop featuring one-off, unique handmade gifts created by talented local artists and makers. From artwork and crafts to thoughtful keepsakes, every purchase helps support our local creative community and celebrates the wonderful talent found around Wivenhoe area.
More than just a café, Wivenhoe Cafe & Gallery is also a creative platform for local artists, hosting rotating exhibitions and community events throughout the year. We are passionate about supporting local talent and creating a welcoming cultural space where art, food and community come together.
Whether you’re stopping by after a riverside walk, meeting friends for lunch, enjoying coffee and cake with family, exploring local artwork, or simply soaking up the relaxed village atmosphere, Wivenhoe Cafe & Gallery offers a warm and memorable experience full of flavour, creativity, charm and community spirit.

Many Worlds — New Collection by Hubert Kerry
“Many Worlds” marks a new chapter in Hubert Kerry’s evolving practice, expanding his exploration of imagined terrains and parallel realities. This latest collection introduces sculptural forms that feel at once ancient and futuristic—structures that could belong to distant planets or microscopic ecosystems.
Through porous surfaces, organic contours, and earthy, mineral tones, Kerry creates environments that suggest quiet transformation and the passage of time. Ladders, openings, and clustered forms hint at movement and connection between unseen realms.
With “Many Worlds,” Kerry invites us to consider the possibility that countless worlds exist alongside our own—each with its own logic, beauty, and mystery waiting to be discovered. Visit us for the Art Trail and take time to appreciate the collection.
