Looking for something to do over October half-term? Join us for autumn themed crafts. All crafts are free and fun for all ages.

This year we are hosting three wreath-making sessions in the run-up to Christmas. We normally host two but one session is already fully booked by attendees from last year who enquired early. Our sessions are:
Wednesday 2nd December: 10.30–12.30 (NOW FULLY BOOKED)
Thursday 3rd December 2-4
Friday 4th December 10.30–12.30 (NOW FULLY BOOKED)
Sessions will take place in our beautiful chapel which will be fully decked out for Christmas. We will provide moss, foliage, wreath ring, wire, ribbon and some decorations to add, along with festive refreshments. Please bring secateurs and/or gardening gloves if you have them (we will have spares), plus any greenery and/or decorations that you want to incorporate into your wreath.
There are 12 places per session at a cost of £20 per person per session. There are, at time of posting, 5 places left on the Wednesday session, and all 12 places remain free on the Thursday. Last year's sessions booked out so if you would like to book a place please email [email protected]. Please let us know any dietary requirements.

The book is now in a second edition print run with a new cover design. 🥳

Written to accompany our Just Women exhibition, which can still be seen in our Chapel & Museum.

Join us via Zoom on Saturday 17th October at 11am BST for our latest Heritage Talk.
In "George Edwards and the General Strike" the Rev Graham Hedger looks at the activities of the Primitive Methodist politician George Edwards during the 9 day strike of 1926, focusing on Edwards' support for the mineworkers and their families prompted by a fiercely moral Christian socialism based on the Bible rather than Karl Marx. An event aimed primarily at local preachers and worship leaders but open to all, an introduction to Godly Play as a method of developing spiritual practice for both adults and young people. We will highlight its relevance to Hugh Bourne and the Primitive Methodists, using some of the items in the Museum collection, and emphasise the importance of children’s spirituality.

Your local world-famous Alsager Book Emporium will be opening its doors this bank holiday Monday (in addition to its normal Friday and Saturday opening). Probably the best second hand charity bookshop in the north west, it's a great place for book lovers on a budget. All proceeds go to support your local Englesea Brook Chapel and Museum of Primitive Methodism.

Good news, book lovers everywhere! The world-famous will be open this Bank Holiday Monday, 10am to 2pm. AND we are still be open this Friday and Saturday as normal, 10am to 2pm. How lucky are you? If you are a book lover, very lucky indeed! Don't let this opportunity pass you by (although if you can't make it, don't worry, as we will be open the following week as normal, Friday and Saturday, 10am to 2pm). Come and have a browse.
