Biggest group dig in Devon todate in Parkham. The ground was saturated, the farmyard parking was inches deep in every kind of animal s**t and I spent all day arguing with the detector. Even the pinpointer played up and the headphones wouldn’t work at all. Found nothing of any interest. What a stupid hobby! Twingo went well though!

What with the summer season and the ground being so dry and hard l have not been detecting for months.. finally man couple hours yesterday.. Dug plenty holes but not much of interest found.. WW2 General Service Button..sort of a Dad's Army thing! Exciting new permission tomorrow - been waiting months to get on lt however the weather looks very much against lt!

Ornate Buckle (fragment) Took a while to identify this! I thought it was a piece of a Kids toy but then realised it was a 'find'. Took a fair bit of research! 1620 - 1690. Happy Days! Location - Saunton.

Little trip down to Cornwall last week. Not much found except these couple coins, just about identifiable. George 3rd, no date visible but reigned 1760 to 1820. Victorian Half Penny Early Head but date not visible.

Few hours yesterday on a Permission just outside Barnstaple.. didn't find much but this coin is quite something.. Napoleon 3rd Emperor of France until 1872. He was Napoleon Bonaparte's nephew and the last King of France. There is a Rouen Mint Mark so could not have been struck after 1856. He actually came to England and died here so maybe he brought it with him! Farmer gave me another field to go at too!
