Darlington Railway Preservation Society The DRPS houses and restores locomotives and railway artefacts with a connection to Darlington and the surrounding area. The D.R.P.S.

is home to a number of locomotives and Wagons that were built or worked in Darlington.The main steam loco is 78018 which was built at North Road Locomotive Works in 1954.

Flying Scotsman and Tornado are Ruddington sell-out!

Records were broken at the Great Central Railway (Nottingham) and its Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre headquarters when A3 Pacific No. 60103 Flying Scotsman and A1 4-6-2 No.60163 Tornado ran services – 11,000 plus tickets were sold for the whole visit, with all seats sold on the six daily nine-coach services.
