There's probably lots of national days that we could celebrate today but we thought we'd simply post a wonderful photo and and focus on what a great place we think Canons Ashby is. Hope you agree? 🤔

For we're featuring books that belonged to Sir Henry Dryden and his daughter Alice. They have their initials in them and scraps of envelopes Sir Henry used as bookmarks. We know he bought them in June 1887 as he put this in the front of the book. Look out for them in our Lost and Found display in the Painted Parlour 📚.

It's today and we think that you could treat all your friends and family to as many pancakes as they wanted if you used a range this big! What would you put on them though? Our starter for 10 is cherry pie filling and vanilla ice cream 😋🥞

The object is the marmalade cutter in the kitchen. It was made by Follows and Bate who by 1937 were making a huge range of things including potato chippers, lawn mowers, hose reels and garden seats as well as marmalade cutters. We don't know though if they also made a machine that would stir the marmalade as it cooked! 🍊😄

We found some weird and wonderful creatures in the Servants’ Hall panelling which were spotted after hours of patient surveillance from the top of the Teletower. These creatures are rarely seen together in the same environment, a natural history first, but do you know what they are (right and wrong answers will be accepted!)? 😄

There's new growth springing up everywhere so it's a great time to be thinking about gardening and maybe eating what's already growing. Two of our events are perfect for this! The early spring foraging walk will help you find hedgerow and woodland edibles and the garden tour (with afternoon tea) will be a chance to look behind the scenes at the way our gardens are looked after.
