Bar Scene
Betsy McCarthy

Betsy works from her home studio creating linocuts and etchings. "In my own work I am interested in themes of nostalgia, memory, storytelling and intimacy. It doesn’t always have to be romantic but to me these moments are so precious and there is something I find so beautiful and powerful in these moments that can seem so small like holding hands or a hug."

Foxlowe Arts Centre is a vibrant, community-focused arts venue based in a historic building at Market Place, Leek, Staffordshire, operating as a registered charity. It serves as a hub for creativity, featuring a popular café, gallery, live music venue, and cinema, while also hosting workshops, a youth theatre, and providing space for private events. "We love all of Betsy's work. It has a loose dynamic quality and we enjoyed the narratives."
