Erin Todd - House Is A Feeling

House is a Feeling explores the continuing rave culture in the UK, and how
the youth of the 90s, are still dancing.

Music is the answer to your problems, keep on moving and you can stop
them.

Erin Todd explores Rave cutler in the U.K, documenting the
subcultures expressions and actions when at events around the Midlands.

Todd’s work investigates the idea of dancing your problems away, using
music as a source of therapy, connecting societal issues with a surge of
popularity in Dance music and raves.

Using a mix of digital and film photography, Erin Todd creates bright and colourful photographs by
overlaying UV paint motifs onto these documentary photographs.

These colours not only represent the feeling felt by being at these ravers they
represent the love and passion felt for the music.

Join us on Tuesday 3rd of December at 7pm to celebrate the opening of 'Fluidity and Forgiveness', an exhibition celebrating gender fluid, transgender and non-binary artists as they present work that reflects on their personal experiences of living a gender fluid life and the impact that has. This show will be at Dubrek Studios, Derby, UK (67 Bridge St, Derby DE1 3LB), with a live performance by artist Yay Maria. All are welcome!

Hi Everyone

Just a reminder of the objective for Dubrek free Jam.

Most of Jam are very often very Jazz orientated, which is fine I love jazz. Dubrek Free Jam was made with the intention to improvise on music, whatever the style and the background of the musicians playing.

For example, an indie guitarist can start a riff, a drummer with a jazz background can join, a bass player with more blues background, and an oriental singer.

The objective for all musicians is to blend into the music and be cohesive.

You just need 2 chords to start a jam. Nothing complex.😊

That is an incredible experience and help any of us to get out if our comfort zone in a very fun and friendly way.

I want to insist that Dubrek free Jam is not an open mic. You can come as a band if you are ready to play with other musicians and mix up with the people present at the jam, but you will not have a slot dedicated for your band to play your own music and promote your band.

This is how you will grow as a musician and you will manage to open your creativity.

Don't forget that we are here to support you if needed😊.
