Both of our brewery engines running in unison for the first time since 2021! A sight we never thought we’d see again 😍🤩

Success!! 🎉
Today, Brewery No. 1 ran for the first time since we lost steam in 2021!

Unlike No. 2, No. 1 required considerably more work to get back into operation, but after many weeks of dedication, volunteers James Evans, Robert Walker, and Sinead Loates successfully brought her back to life.

This means that, for the first time in many years, we can now run both brewery engines together once again – a sight we’ve all been looking forward to seeing!

A huge thank you to everyone involved in the repairs. There’s still some more work to go but we’re so pleased to see her back!

Safe to say we’re rather chuffed! 😊

We’re open today!!! Come see our engines run from 10:30-15:00! We’re at Markham grange garden centre in Doncaster!

We’ve got steam engines of all shapes and sizes here!! Come and see them for yourself on our open days every Wednesday and bank holiday Monday through to August!!

Remember we’re open EVERY Wednesday 10:00-15:30!! Many of our engines can be seen running on our open days too!!

Another goal achieved on Monday was to fit our J.S White Compound Marine Engine with a new quieter motor drive. The previous one was rather loud and could be heard throughout the museum but the new one allows the engine to be turned quieter, making for a more pleasant and peaceful experience for both volunteers and visitors!
