St. Josephโ€™s Chapel was begun by Augustus Pugin and finished by his son, Edward in 1854. It was built for the use of Ushawโ€™s domestic and estate staff.

Today, the space is occasionally used to display art installations and exhibitions.

To mark Remembrance Sunday, a special Remembrance Service with Sung Vespers will be held in St. Cuthbertโ€™s Chapel on Sunday 8 November at 4pm.

Everyone is invited to attend, as with prayer and music we pay our respects to those who lost their lives in the two World Wars of the 20th century, and in all conflicts since.

Since May, the Clock Quadrangle at Ushaw has undergone a remarkable transformation as contemporary artist Rebecca Chesney living garden continues to take shape.

With the dedication of our wonderful garden volunteers, who have been tending to the space every week, the planting is growing and the design is coming to life. ๐ŸŒฑ

Itโ€™s been wonderful to see the progress so far, and weโ€™re excited to continue following the journey as the garden develops and blooms through the seasons.
