Last Saturday, we welcomed a visit from Sarah of Nottingham University who spent nearly all the day recording the sounds of the Windmill. Surprisingly more than you'd think. Pop along for a visit yourself to hear the old gal creak and clunk! 🤩

A week on from our amazingly successful Scrimshire's Scramble we thought it be time to post photos up of our brilliant volunteers. As ever, without them either on a Saturday, the Family Fun Weekend, the Scramble, or any other event we have going on, it is because of them that these events can go on. Community spirit at its best. 🫶🏻 We thank you 🫶🏻

⚠️The route will be muddy. The route has puddles. The route is undulating.
You will need trail shoes or shoes with grip.

📯Start time is 10:00am. From the Mill yard it is a lovely walk to the Cuckoo Bridge starting area which may take a solid 5 mins.
📢Race debrief is 9:50am. Please be there at Cuckoo Bridge starting area before this time for vital information about the route conditions and other important matters.
🅿️Parking will be limited. Please look out for the traffic marshals at the entrance of Mill Lane and listen to the advice given. Parking will be along the grass verge of Mill Lane up to a point, once this is full parking will be either on the main road leading up to Mill Lane or on the residential streets in the village such as Mill Close, St. Martins Road etc. Please allow 10-15mins to walk to the Mill yard from these areas.
🔢Number collection. Head to the white tent where a couple of amazing volunteers will take your name and give you your race number.
🎒Bag -off. Is at the same white tent should you wish to use it. The station will have a volunteer there throughout, but please understand you are leaving the bags at your own risk.
🧻Toilets. There will be two portaloo available to all to use. A third toilet - Mill Loo - is available for female use only please.
🚮Self-sufficiency. We are following the leave-no-trace ethos for the Scramble, as such there will not be any water along the route, only at the finish. Please carry on you your usual energy bars, gels, hydration etc that you normally would for a 10k distance. Please keep any wrappers / packets etc on you until the finish, thank you.
📸Photography. There will be some foto-folk plotted about the route so show them the muddy-fun time that you're having! If you can see them that is...
🍵Post-run refreshments. We will be selling tea, coffee, homemade cakes and bakes, and hot-dogs (sorry no V. or Ve. alternatives this year) for small change - card is also accepted - with all proceeds going to North Leverton Windmill Trust.
🎖️Finishers Swag. When you finish and are suitably ready, please don't forget to pick up your medal, honey and flour from the white tent as that's why you came, right?
🦺Volunteers and Marshalls. Without them, Scrimshire's Scramble couldn't happen. Please say hi or a high five if there's one going as you pass, they'll be in some remote places for hours, bless. Also please do listen to any instruction given by on-route marshals, it could save your life. If you have any questions on the day, just approach anyone with a hi-viz on and they will absolutely do their best to help or at least find someone who can.
