So …. Tomorrow is the day ….. only 15 shopping days until Halloween 🎃 ….. and ……. 20 to bonfire night ?!? ……. And dare we say it …… 70 days to get your Christmas presents sorted 🎄 🤶🎁

Hello! We are holding a craft market at Sturton-le-Steeple Village Hall on the 17th October, from 11am to 2pm. It is FREE, so please come along and support your fabulous and local crafts-people who will have their many amazing wares for sale. Too soon for the Xmas last minute rush? Or maybe snag a Halloween themed gift?

There will be handmade jewellery, bracelets, necklaces and semi precious jewellery. Knitted items, canvas bags and clothing. Pottery, sea glass items and crafted driftwood designs. Bee's wax candles and tie-dye offerings. Face gemstone decorations, children's hair accessories and bags of sweets. Decorative log signs and fairy woodland vibe items.

And from the Windmill - flour milled by our millstones, local honey and souvenirs.

But not forgetting there will be cakes & bakes & tea & coffee & other drinks and a place for the little visitors to be creative with colouring and drawing. Phewsh!

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Keith Barlow. One of our much loved millers throughout the long history of the windmill, his life's journey was fulfilled earlier this month. Yet his legacy will continue to live on within the fabric of the windmill, and be spoken of in all the years to come.

As a mark of utmost respect, we will set the sails at a cross on the day of Keith's service this coming Friday the 2nd October. All are welcome to join and celebrate his life's journey at St. Martin's church at 1:30pm.

Keith, thank you for your years of service.

The flour dust has settled, and the grass has sprung back. Phewsh... what a weekend that was!
There is much more to say than what can be squeezed into a little picture to say thank you, again. The Family Fun Weekend was another huge success for the old Windmill. Every bag of flour bought, pocket change donations given, buying craft trinkets, showing off your wheels and dogs, and staying for the music, has helped raise just over £7k! 😲

So to expand a little... We had volunteers giving huge amounts of their free time (some even earning the All-nightshift Superstar badge!) to make it happen; local farmers kindly allowing their fields for use; Retford & Gainsborough Motor Club for bringing the motors in; JS Highfield Ltd, Trans-Sport.tv Limited, AMPower LTD and Carol White at EES Showhire for their behind the scenes work. 💪🏻 All hugely appreciated.

It isn't just what you see on the day though, it's the many days and months leading up to the weekend to make sure that we can put on an event that is worth you visiting. So when we say thank you for visiting, we REALLY mean it. Next time though, try climbing the stairs inside the Windmill - it's beautiful up there 🫶🏻.

A great turn out both Saturday and Sunday. It was brilliant to see so many new and old (return) faces. Special Thanks to volunteers from Retford & Gainsborough Motor Club and Trevor Mudd and his gang.
