We are pleased to welcome to Concrete Block Gallery!!! Preview on Friday, exhibition on Saturday and Sunday.

Shae Morgon is a multimedia artist based in Edinburgh whose practice spans painting, performance, and installation. Currently studying for a HND in Contemporary Art Practice, Morgon’s work navigates the complex terrain of disability, intense emotional states, and human connection. With a distinctive voice that blends vulnerability and power, Morgon creates immersive experiences that often invite reflection on care, visibility, and the rituals of everyday life. Their work has been featured in group exhibitions engaging with mental health and homelessness, where they use creative expression as a form of both advocacy and introspection. Morgon’s practice is rooted in both personal narrative and broader social inquiry, balancing formal experimentation with a sharp sense of emotional truth. Whether through pigment or performance, they aim to make the unseen felt and the difficult, shareable.

I’m hanging from a bar, desperately clinging on. It is so painful, but I continue to endure it because the fear of letting go overpowers my desire to be free from this bo***ge. I’m scared by my fantasy of falling, I’m trapped in a fate of my own creation, “everything’s f**ked”, and I really do believe that. This phase was so absolute that it felt final. The smallest flicker of hope in an infinite darkness finally extinguished. And in that very moment, my mind gave way to my body, and my body could no longer maintain it’s position. My fingers sprang open and I floated in a blissful dreamlike state as if angels held me in their arms and gently flew me back down to earth.
