Elgin Gallery and Framers

Now that we're past midsummer I wanted to add a qualification to my last post. I should have said, to make it clear, that I have no intention of closing the business. It is too good a business, and I have a good number of regular customers and friends who thought I might simply be going to close altogether.

I'd like to make it clear and assure everyone that after 14 years building the business I am not going to close down and walk away! As far as I am aware, we are the only gallery and framer between Banff and Inverness as you come along the Moray coast.

The business is up for sale and offers an excellent opportunity for someone who would like to work in the art world and learn the skills of framing. The business could of course be relocated to other premises or elsewhere should a purchaser find it more convenient. I am looking for a new owner or owners who will take over and bring their own ideas and style to a thriving business and continue to serve the large customer base we have been fortunate to enjoy over the years.

If you are interested in possibly taking over, then please email ([email protected]), or call me on 07786 151202.

My very best regards to all for an enjoyable summer!
Andrew

I have thoroughly enjoyed the past fourteen years since opening and running Elgin Gallery & Framers. I have met a huge number of lovely and interesting people many of whom have become friends. I appreciate all the loyal customers who regularly pop in with new works to frame, and the new faces that frequently appear. However, the time has come for me to retire and to hand the reins over to a new owner or owners who can carry on the business and look after new and existing customers. I will be sorry to leave, but as my 70th year approaches and I look forward to meeting my first grandchild, it is the right time to hand over to fresh eyes and ideas.

I thank all of you sincerely for your custom and support over the years... Andrew Henderson (Proprietor)

Elgin Gallery has been trading for nearly fourteen years and is well established in the county town of Morayshire. It is the only art gallery and framing service in the town and services an area from as far east as Banff to Nairn in the west, along with the numerous towns and villages in the catchment area which extends as far south as Aviemore. The population in the catchment area is currently estimated to be around 86k and is growing steadily with new house building and the increase in forces personnel stationed in the two military bases nearby.

The founder and current proprietor has built an extensive customer base and now enjoys a monopoly in the area. The fact that they have not had to advertise for many years speaks to the quality of the work and and the power of word of mouth. It is a busy and prospering business with comprehensive equipment including a CMC mountcutter, along with all the other prerequisites for mounting, framing and displaying artworks.

The business, consisting of equipment, tools, stock and software, is available for sale at offers over £48k. The premises are also for sale as a separate transaction for offers around £65k, offering a prospective purchaser a turnkey opportunity to take over a thriving business in the heart of the beautiful county of Morayshire. This would be particularly suitable for a couple looking for a move from the city to the clean air of the Moray coast.
