Nice walk today, 10 miles to Frensham Pond via Pierrepont and back via Tilford. The "puddle" after Frensham pond was JUST passable and there's a very helpful notice AFTER you've crossed it saying footpath closed due to deep ford! On my challenge, I've passed Newlyn on the way to Penzance. Got a nice encouraging post card ...

An early new year's resolution. I'm going to TRY to walk over 1000 miles in 2025 on the Conqueror Land's End to John O'Groats challenge. 1083 miles in the year or a little under 100 miles a month. I clocked off the first 2.09 miles today ... a long way to go!

Last full day walking on the Isle of Wight for this holiday, including the company of my good friend Shutt. Today saw us walk from Ryde Pier Head round the corner to Lake Station on the Island line. 14 miles, mostly sunny and glorious, apart from on top of Culver Down when it bucketed down. We scuttled into the lovely tea kiosk at Yaverland, which came to our rescue with shelter, tea, and rock cakes. That apart a lovely day. Thanks, June for your company and coming over.

"Benefit with gratitude"
18 miles today from Yarmouth to Cowes. Probably had an extra mile added due to a diversion near the end (footpath erosion).
Lovely weather at the start but cloudy later. At least it stayed dry!

A bearded youth just stopped me while walking, and after greeting me, he said, "what a beautiful morning. If you've got this, you're rich. Benefit with gratitude." I can't deny his message.

Despite a less-than-perfect forecast (and a brief but very heavy rainstorm) I had a great 12 mile walk today. Yarmouth to the Needles, over the Tennyson monument hill (where I met Clare Balding and Alan Titchmarsh - I know ... name dropper!). Gorgeous walk !

Almost 8 miles from Surbiton to Kingston along one side of the Thames and back to Hampton Court along the other. Not to mention TWO Wetherspoons on the way !!!
Great weather, a great walk, and great company. Thanks, Mike.
