After nearly a year of transformation, what was once a cold, damp, and empty space has been reimagined into a vibrant, sustainable venue. Built to the highest environmental standards, using locally sourc

ed timber and repurposed materials from the original structure, the Gallery is a place where art, nature, and community come alive. Owned by a druid, celebrant, conservation landscape architect, and local councillor, the Gallery embodies a deep commitment to community and connection. It warmly welcomes visitors and artists alike, celebrating the intersection of creativity and belonging. The Gallery showcases the beauty of nature through the artistic lens of three ancient cultures: Pictish, Norse, and Celtic. This curated space weaves together diverse perspectives, exploring humanity’s relationship with the land. Artists are inspired to work with natural materials like metal, wood, glass, ceramics, and paper, while also embracing innovative mediums such as fibreglass and digital media. This is more than an art space—it’s a celebration of heritage, sustainability, and the enduring bond between art and nature.

Woodland Tannery is a small, family-run traditional tannery, and one of the last in Scotland still producing rawhide and bark-tanned leather by hand. Its materials are carefully sourced, including fish skins from Scottish smoked salmon suppliers, sheepskins from crofts and smallholdings, and deer hides from estates and the wild landscape. Native barks such as oak and willow are gathered locally.
Rather than using modern chemicals, the tannery relies on traditional methods rooted in patience and skill. Each piece honours the material and its origin, resulting in durable, meaningful products. The tannery produces rawhide for drum making, buckskin, sheepskin rugs, bark-tanned leather and deer hide rugs, alongside bespoke commissions for makers, museums, distilleries and smallholders.
