THE LANMAN MUSEUM - FRAMLINGHAM CASTLE

Would you like to volunteer for a couple of hours a week over the summer? If so, we'd love you to join us.

The Lanman Museum, based in Framlingham Castle, is looking for Stewards to be in the Museum while lots of friendly and interesting visitors are looking at our displays. If you like meeting and greeting visitors and are interested in volunteering in a fantastic historical environment, we would love to welcome you on board. Full guidance will be provided on the various exhibits.

Morning sessions are from 10.30am -12.30pm and afternoon sessions from 1.30pm - 3.30pm, throughout June to September. Our Stewards sign up to sessions on a monthly, fortnightly or weekly basis, so you can do as many or as few sessions as you like, depending on what suits you best.

You can find out more information about the museum on the website: http://lanmanmuseum.uk and on Instagram: .

If you are keen to get involved, please email Olivia Clear, Lanman Museum Trustee, at [email protected]

New exhibit for the museum - the Durrant delivery bike. Much fun was had getting this into place in the museum and we are reliably informed that it still functions as a bicycle as one of the Trusttes rode it to the museum! Durrant's butchers were a well known commercial operation in Framlingham for many years as the photo of the van in 1932 shows (courtesy of https://framlinghamarchive.uk/) . A true butcher's bike.

THE LANMAN MUSEUM
Trustee vacancies
The Lanman Museum in Framlingham is looking for two Trustees to join their Trustee Board.
The museum is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and is dedicated to the history of the Town, located in the castle, and run on a voluntary basis by the Trustees. We have a Trustee meeting every three months, usually lasting a couple of hours, to discuss and progress various matters. It is hoped Trustees would also be available to cover some stewarding sessions in the museum during the summer months.
If you are interested in the history of Framlingham and would like to become involved with the museum, please send an up-to-date CV and short covering letter to the Chairman of Trustees, John Bridges at [email protected].
If you have any questions about the role before deciding whether to apply, you can either email John or call him on 01728 723557.
