⭐ The Heritage Centre is located in its own historic building, being first built as a Post Office in 1904, opening by 1905 as a Telephone Exchange and Post Office.

🏛️ On your visit, explore the Centre's fantastic displays charting the story of Gainsborough's growth from as far back as the Romans.

🖼️ Look closer and explore the building and its own heritage too, with an original fireplace located in our research library!

🔹 Industrial displays featuring Marshall’s and Rose Brothers
🔹 A recreated 20th-century street scene
🔹 Extensive archives for family and local history research
🔹A cosy Tea Room & gift shop
🔹Fully accessible museum, with a lift, ramp access and accessible toilet

Later this month the Gainsborough Heritage Centre presents a fascinating history talk by Rick Berry on Thursday 24 September.

Rick is a dedicated Gainsborough Old Hall volunteer with a particular interest in its carved ritual protection marks.

Please note entry to the talk and the bar at the venue are both cash only.

Make sure to click the link to listen to the Small Business Big Network podcast! It was great to welcome Liz Drury who visited our Heritage Centre recently.

Volunteer Gemma explains in more detail about the amazing array of exhibits including talking about our ten year anniversary. From the recreation of a 20th century street and the development of our museum across three floors.

The centre is home to an extensive local archive and research library with a tearoom and giftshop on the ground floor!

☀️ There is still lots to see at our fantastic Heritage Centre this summer. Join us and enjoy our new activities including playing hopscotch in our street scene! We are open till 4pm today.

🔎 Explore our exciting displays and see if you can spot the Heritage Hedgehogs hiding around the museum...

⌛ Discover the stories behind some of our historic objects with our heritage trail. Solve the clues to win some sweets!

🖼️ Dress up in our fantastic Victorian outfits made by our volunteers and step back in time in our historic Gainsborough street.

🖍️ Create your very own crayon rubbings and check out our latest exhibition activities!

🕙 We are open 10am till 4pm, every Tuesday and Saturday.

🏛️ Entry is £3 per person, with free entry for members and children. Membership is £15 per year!

⭐ Explore our fantastic gift shop packed with souvenirs. From beautiful watercolours of local scenes, to drawings of engineering machinery. There is a wide range of books and DVDs available showcasing the Centre's historical research and useful for both local and family history researchers.

🏛️ We also offer a membership package for only £15 a year, it includes free entry to the Heritage Centre's exhibits and displays! If that wasn't enough you can also investigate the Centre's research library, a treasure trove of information to help with any family or local history quest.

📚 Every member receives a quarterly newsletter with fascinating articles and insights into the work of the Heritage Centre.

☕ Enjoy an Exchange Tearoom voucher with a hot drink and a slice of cake for only £4.50 each.

🕙 We are open 10am till 4pm, every Tuesday and Saturday.
