I loved the overlapping patterns and shapes of the buildings and the dramatic ever-changing colours and moods of the sky. I was always drawing and making things as a kid. I went on to study at Glasgow School of Art, graduating with an honours degree in Silversmithing & Jewellery in 2004. Since then I have had many jobs, which include being a designer with The Ringmaker, an engraver, a cosmetic rep
air person working on building sites, a Bridal Consultant and more recently an Art & Design teacher. Over the years I have taken on many private commissions and produced various jewellery collections some of which have been on show in places such as, The Lighthouse, The Whitehouse Gallery and Southside Gallery. However, it has been the growing demand I have received for my paintings since graduating which has steered me towards the path I am on today. Re-visiting my love of painting has been inevitable and unavoidable. The jewellery design goes someway to explaining the sometimes very intricate detail in my paintings. My influences and inspirations change all the time; however, the city around me plays a big part in what I paint. My paintings depict the ‘real’, sometimes gritty side of Glasgow and they have triggered off many a commission where the client wants a little bit of their or a loved one’s life on canvas. My work has been described as “nostalgic but with a modern twist”. Commissions welcome; portraits, cityscapes, favourite things......just get in touch for a quote
