Good morning!

We hope you had a wonderful weekend and are enjoying the slightly cooler conditions today, wherever you are.

A word to the wise… there are now just two weeks left to visit our Summer Exhibition!

Although the exhibition officially closes on Saturday 29th August, some works will be taken down a few days earlier to be returned with our courier.

So, if there’s something you’ve had your eye on, don’t leave it too late!

We’d love to see you before the exhibition comes to a close.

“The Angel Of The North”

I started this large 4’x4’ oil painting about a year or so ago. I often do this; I get all fired up and start a painting but, for whatever reason, lose my way.

So she has been standing in a corner of my studio, staring and pleading with me, for months.

This morning I came into my studio well prepared to work on a large landscape but when I walked upstairs to start painting I looked at her and we connected. It was electric.

And so, after an age, she is finally ready to be varnished and framed and included in my upcoming solo exhibition at the Annan Gallery in Glasgow in September….
