Having played under managers like Fergie, Shankley and working with Dalglish, Burns, O'Neill and more and coaching internationally, the room was hooked on his every word.

A fascinating talk today for the Football Memories Hampden Club from Bill Daly, published author of crime novels and expert on the Great Exhibitions in Europe in the Victorian era. Speaking firstly on Glasgow holding a great exhibition in 1888, Bill then recounted some of his footballing memories and highlights, as well as his family connections to Celtic Football Club, bringing interesting memorabilia for all to see. What a wonderful morning for all, thank you Bill for your time!

As a Museum tour guide, successful football player & lecturer at the University of Stirling she has wealth of knowledge to share esp on the historical development of sport in Britain c.1750-1914.

Great to see Mark Metcalf’s new book on John Goodall now available to order. Born in England to Scottish parents (his father served in the army and had been based in London) & raised in Ayrshire, John would go on to play for England due to the eligibility rules of the period.

Goodall played his early football with Kilmarnock Athletic before heading over the border to enjoy a stellar career with a host of clubs including Preston North End and Derby County.
