Smithy Gallery Contemporary Scottish Art Gallery Smithy Gallery, located in the beautiful village of Blanefield, opened in November 2005.

The historic blacksmith's building was lovingly restored, retaining many of its original features, while creating a unique space to showcase its diary of exhibitions. Smithy Gallery is only a twenty minute drive from Glasgow's City Centre and will give visitors the opportunity to view the work of well known contemporary Scottish artists and to discover the talents of new up and coming artists. The

gallery also exhibits a wide selection of sculptural ceramics, glassware and jewellery produced by some of Britain's finest talent.

After twenty incredible years, it is time to gently close the Smithy Gallery doors. Thank you to everyone who has made the gallery a warm and vibrant place, full of wonderful art, laughter and conversation. We couldn't have asked for more. Every work of art, conversation and friendship formed, has greatly enriched my life.
I will be taking all of this with me.
We are grateful to be able to pass this beautiful building on to its next adventure. Built around the 1660s, It has been an absolute privilege to have been a small part of its rich and varied history.
We aren't going too far. Watch this space for news..

We are so excited that Christmas is on the way and it's almost holiday time! Our anniversary exhibition, SCORE! TWENTY YEARS OF SMITHY GALLERY continues until Saturday 20th.
This has been an incredibly special time, and a wonderful chance to say thank you to all who have been part of the gallery over the last 20 years. Artists, customers, family and friends; the richest of all experiences. Dreams really do come true 💕 Much love, from all at Smithy Gallery 💕
