We're happy to announce the launch of our Oral History Archive. This is free to access and can be listened to via our website: https://alfwebstermuseum.com/oral-histories/

The Oral History component of the 'Accessing Websters' project was led by Dr Lauren Beatty and aims to provide a wider context to the Webster archive.

We have a great host of events as part of 2026. These events will be held over two venues (Cottiers Theatre and The Alf Webster Stained Glass Museum). Talks by Prof. Robin Webster, Fergus Sutherland and Max Donnelly.

We will also be hosting a Celebration of Glasgow featuring Protests & Suffragettes, Glasgow Zine Library, Glasgow City Heritage Trust, Under One Roof Scotland, Scottish Traditional Skills Forum and many, many more. This is a FREE event at Cottiers Theatre on the 17th June 10-3pm, and no need to book.

Ideal for schools, or any one wishing to find out more about a career in heritage, history or traditional skills.

Yesterday we were privileged to have a visit from Sarah Rothwell, Senior Curator Modern and Contemporary Design. Sarah came to visit the conservation work and hear about our future museum plans.

Sarah holds responsibility for the British, European and other ‘Western’ collections of glass, ceramics, metalwork, jewellery and industrial design circa 1945 to the present, which include a nationally significant collection of Contemporary Craft. And the seminal Dan Klein & Alan J Poole Private Collection of Modern Glass, gifted to the organisation in 2009 and internationally recognised as a significant survey of some of the leading names in British and Irish Studio and Art Glass.
