Hello out there, dear friends.

As I've gotten older, I've realised that time passes faster, and days are like water in a flowing river. As you age, your view of time changes, and it becomes something to be experienced. You've learnt the value of the life you left behind and the importance of not wasting what's left. The body, my faithful servant who endured all this abuse over the years, is getting older and becoming less capable of serving me effectively.

Nonetheless, it persists in carrying out my commands, and I am grateful to have such a trustworthy friend to accompany me on this difficult journey through life. It truly feels sometimes like the perilous journey of Odysseus trying to return home.

Some people think of the blissful moment when they retire from their jobs. Artists dread the moment that they will be unable to do their job. If your goal was the quality of your job instead of money, you will always be filled with a growing enthusiasm and resolve to do it better next time.

These days, I am much more aware that everything I am is the result of an infinite supply of Divine Grace, for which I am eternally grateful.

I hope you see Grace's workings this Christmas, as the veil of doubt and selfishness is thinner and easier to see through. I truly pray that all of you, however challenging your lives may be, become part of this celebration of love, life, and service. I also pray that your bodies will be strengthened and serve you well in the New Year.

So, dear friends, I wish you all from my heart a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. x

Hello, out there.

I hope that you are all well and happy.

We had a proper summer this year so far and a dry Glastonbury Festival. I am sure you all have a taste of a life reserved for the usually Mediterranean climate, or maybe not all, as my friend in Scotland who lives on the island of Mull told me yesterday that the temperature on the island was 12 degrees Celsius and very strong winds … Oops, sorry, Scotland.

As far as I am concerned, I feel very creative lately, and I am enjoying the medium of watercolour that is quite appropriate with all this heat.

I am not sure if I have ever mentioned to you that the various mediums are related to the elements. Also, it is important to know that each medium corresponds to a season, and it is important to know what medium or even style to use to counterbalance the various creative limitations imposed by the seasons and your physical, emotional and mental state. I do, and this is the reason that I allowed myself to dance creatively across mediums and styles in order to maintain my inner balance and enthusiasm for art.

As previously stated, I am currently working on the symbiotic creative relationship between watercolours, watercolour pencils, and colour markers on paper. I was very pleased with the results of my few watercolour studies in the hyperrealism style, and I am naturally eager to share my little secrets with you when you join my classes.

I hope to see you all next time you visit the Gallery.
