The Future of Glenrothes & Area Heritage Centre

Are you interested in helping secure the future of G&AHC by becoming a Trustee? Would you like to play an important role in preserving its 78yr heritage and history? Are you interested in:

> The history of the land ‘before Glenrothes’?

> The history of how your hometown was created by Glenrothes Development Corporation?

> How it became one of the most successful of all the postwar New Towns in the UK and Fife’s Adminstrational Capital.

> Of those early ordinary townsfolk who pioneered the setting up of the town’s social infrastructure?

> The successful Glenrothes ‘Silicon Glen’ history.

> Its long-standing connection to Clan Leslie Charitable Trust and that of Noelle, Countess of Rothes/Titanic story.

The creation of G&AHC:

* G&AHC was founded in 2009 and until 2023 promoted the history of Glenrothes, Leslie, Markinch, Thornton and Kinglassie through its large museum premises in the Kingdom Shopping Centre, Glenrothes.

* G&AHC became a Scottish Registered Charity in 2011 (SC042520).

* Was awarded a 3*VisitScotland visitor attraction centre in 2019.

* Created a very successful ‘Friends of G&AHC’ membership.

* Won multiple awards for their innovative exhibitions and presentations.

If you would like to be part of the team taking G&AHC into the future I would really like to hear from you. E-Mail: [email protected]

G&AHC is a voluntary organisation, there are no ‘paid’ officials/trustees/volunteers.
