Apologies if you visited us last Sunday to find us closed - we're short on volunteers, sadly. Rest assured we'll be open both days this weekend with Tom and Margaret on duty Saturday, and new recruit Brenda doing her first shift on Sunday. Want to help? Drop us a line or come and visit for a chat.

The fabulous model of the Cutty Sark, kindly loaned to us by the grandson of her last Master, Captain Richard Woodget, will soon be sailing off to her new home at the Scottish Maritime Museum in Irvine. So if you want to see her before she goes, don’t delay - we’re open Saturdays and Sundays 1.30pm to 4.00pm.

Opening hours and Volunteers Needed

Now the weather is improving and spring is just around the corner we are preparing to get the museum open again at weekends opening day Saturday 4th April … the museum will be open Saturdays and Sundays from 1.30 to 4.00pm. We are really looking forward to meeting all our Maggie Law Supporters old and new !

Please also visit the Book Shop round the gutty where Mike and Harry will be with a huge selection of second hand books !

We look forward to another season in the museum !

Volunteers -
We are entirely reliant on volunteers and are always looking for new people ! If you would be interested in helping us out please message the page or email us! We find that lots of people prefer to work in pairs so if you have a partener or friend that you can bring along …please do ! There is no need for experience or knowledge …everything in The museum is detailed in writing it on our hand held information audio sets ! It’s a very enjoyable and interesting hobby ! When we have a full bank of volunteers we would only ask that you do a shift (1.30to 4.00 pm ) once every three to four weeks !
