Hello folks,
This Monday, 12th October, at the Community Hall, is the annual appraisal with John Maule-Finch. So if you are looking for advice on your prospective entries for the exhibition, or even if you're not, bring along two paintings for John to cast an eye over.

Your favourite painting will be looked at first, and then if there is time - which there usually is, we can present your second choice to him for advice.

John is very kind, very constructive and a generally good egg, so don't be frightened, don't hide your light under a bushel, we want to see what you can do, and so does John.

See you all on Monday. 7pm for 7.30pm.

Himley Art in the Park — 26 & 27 September

Ten jolly artists joined the ever bouncy Stacy Smith for the Hagley Art Club's autumn workshop on Saturday at the Edward Marsh centre in Kinver. It was different but it was fun. x

Coming to Hagley Art Club this Monday 10th August, Hannah Broadhead, Portrait Artist.

Hannah is one of our very own professional artists from the West Midlands. You may have seen her on Sky’s Portrait Artist of the year where she had competed twice. Often spotted wearing her paint splattered black signature workwear. Hannah is prolific in Self- portraits. Check out her website and discover her landscapes, figurative work and still life’s. Better still, come to Hagley Community Hall on Monday evening, 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Visitors are welcome at £5 a ticket.

June's demo on Monday 8th June is by Stacey Smith, visual artist, designer, and illustrator operating under Wildacre Studios. She specializes in slow fashion, print, pattern making, and hosts creative workshops, including collage clubs in Stourbridge. She will be demonstrating collage with the opportunity for members to work along
7.30 - 9.30 pm. Hope to see you there..👍

Hello folks,
We have Sharon Gibson on Monday evening (11th May)showing us how she approaches big flowers in watercolour.

For those wishing to paint along, and I hope you do, she has sent us this message:

The session I’m planning is focused on Flowers and will use water flow techniques with brushes and palette knives. I use Windsor and Newton tubes and we will need to make greens, pinks, purples and oranges so any favourite translucent or semi translucent colours will work. I use indigo and transparent gold or gamboge hue for foliage.
I can also demonstrate use of cling film to get texture in foliage and create simple hydrangeas.
