As another year draws to a close, we’re celebrating everything that makes Oaks & Acorns special—fun, companionship, and plenty of laughter.
Good food, good friends, countless shared moments, and an incredible team of caring staff have shaped our year in the best possible ways. We’ve marked many birthdays together too.. and enjoyed a cake or two!
Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey.
And to those we’ve lost, you remain in our thoughts every day.

Here’s to 2026 and all the moments still to come.

✨ Fun-Filled Days Leading Up to Christmas! ✨
We’ve been busy making wreaths, decorating the Christmas tree 🎄, stencilling cards ✂️, hanging stockings on our make‑shift fireplace, decorating candles, and of course… taking plenty of silly selfies 📸.

If you’re looking for company for yourself or a loved one, or just need a bit of respite in the New Year, we’re lucky enough to be able to offer extra space on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Each session includes:
🍽️ A delicious two-course hot lunch
🎶 Entertainment to lift the spirits & to suit each individual

✨ It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! ✨
We’ve been busy making Christmas cards and decorating pinecones, all in preparation for the tree’s arrival next week. 🎄

The holiday spirit was in full swing with games like Reindeer Toss and Snowball Relay that had everyone laughing and joining in the fun. 🦌❄️

This week also brought a delicious midweek roast followed by the ultimate comfort dessert — sticky toffee pudding. 🥘🍮

And of course, we’re so grateful for our regular, invaluable visits from Kevin, Cara, and Winnie — spreading joy and making this season even brighter. ❤️

🎃 A belated Halloween update from Oaks and Acorns Day Centre!

Last week was so jam-packed with spooky fun, we’re only just catching up — and what a week it was!

🧶 We got creative with:

👻Cotton ball ghosts

🎃Sock pumpkins

🎃Pumpkin painting

🕷A sticky spider web throw!

💪 We kept active with Keep Fit with Kevin, stretching and twisting our way through the day…

🌟 And to top it all off, we ended the week with a dance in the dark — glow sticks in hand and music requests flying! It was the perfect mix of movement, laughter, and spooky sparkle.

✨ Good news! We’ve got more capacity on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays — ideal for anyone who wants to join in the fun, make new friends, and enjoy creative, active days.

🌳Oaks and Acorns Update 🌰🍁
After our Monday warm up with Kevin, we danced our way into the week with Winnie leading the way — filling the room with music, movement, and joy! 💃✨

We got creative with our autumn suncatchers 🎨🍂,added to our beautiful collage in Art with Cara, and scored points in our Target game!

And of course, we kept everyone well-fed and cosy with a week full of comforting home-cooked meals:
🍲 Monday: Hearty Chicken Casserole to warm us up.
🐟 Wednesday: Delicious Parmesan Baked Cod for a midweek treat.
🥓 Friday: A classic favourite — Liver and Bacon, followed by a nostalgic Bread and Butter Pudding for dessert! 🍞🍮

✨ What a way to end the week — absolutely magical! ✨

Yesterday, the Brew Crew were treated to a delightful outing to The Oak Barn bar and Restaurant where we soaked up a few autumn rays of sunshine and indulged in coffee and cake — the perfect seasonal pick-me-up 🍰☕🍂

And today, the magic continued thanks to the wonderful David Pattenden, who wowed us with balloon jewellery and joyful entertainment. Our clients were enchanted, and the team couldn’t stop smiling!

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do 💛
